<sub>Masquerade:

    I spot a man behind the large, masked crowd staring intently at me. Though his mask covers his eyes, I feel like he is looking straight into my very soul. My heart is throbbing as I find myself moving towards him; his gaze fixed on me. I slowly walk through the crowd; my gaze fixed on him. Before I realized it, we were only one meter apart. He bowed and looked up at me.</sub>

    _{“Would you care for a dance?” He asked with a voice as pure as the driven snow, his hand out, waiting for mine.}

    _{I put my hand on his and all my worries melted away in that instant. He gently smiled and led me to the center of the ballroom. I could hear the soft melody of the music playing in the background. His other hand went around my waist; my left hand on top of his right shoulder. I took one step forward as he stepped back. Other steps soon followed. We repeated this motion, adding some twist and turns. Soon, we were dancing in perfect harmony.}

    <sub>Everything began to go dark with the crowd around me slowly disappearing. It was just the two of us dancing in the ballroom. Our gaze never left each other. My eyes wandered around at his handsome facial features. He lifted my chin to make sure I was looking only at the center of his face. I was caught by surprise and blushed violently. I never want this moment to end. However, the music came to an end and we stopped dancing. He bowed again, thanking me for the dance. Out of my curiosity, I pulled the mask off his face revealing his identity. Then, it became clear….this man was not human.
